My one word this year has been “celebrate” and today, I celebrate each of you and I celebrate us, because together, we make amazing things happen! I celebrate all the times you’ve gone far above and beyond the call of duty. The times you’ve stayed at school late and made sacrifices for your students; the times you’ve come to school when you should have stayed home because you were sick; and all those times you’ve written sub plans at 2am. I celebrate the times you gave out hugs and high fives, wiped tears and patted children on the back. I celebrate that you go along with my crazy ideas; that you let me push you out of your comfort zone; and that you allow yourselves to be vulnerable. I celebrate that we can laugh together, that Eric dresses up like an elf, that Jeff dresses like a dolphin and that you played along with all of our silly games in the fall. I celebrate that Scott can send me a text like this: And, I can’t forget to celebrate our first year teachers who all grew tremendously this year-Jeff, Tasha, Stacey, Sarah, Brittany; you did it!
I celebrate Tonya who has done so much for all of us and I wish her luck at her new school; but I want to remind her that she’ll always be part of our family. I celebrate Debbie for taking a risk and creating a brand new course for our students next year! I also celebrate that we have a staff who can be honest with one another and who is not afraid to hold one another accountable. When we are faced with a tough situation we jump into action and work together as a team. Today, I celebrate the family that we are. I feel so blessed to spend my days with you. Thank you for being you. Thank you for helping me grow. I hope you take a moment to celebrate a successful school year! You make me proud. I celebrate you! Here is your last staff update for the 2015-2016 school year.
